Palmer’s goes to Italy!

Palmer’s Culinary Director, Megan Palmer Rivera was invited on an 18 day ‘Buyer’s Tour’ of Italy by aTTavola, an Italian Food Exporter based in Sicily. Co-owner and native Sicilian, Gioacchino Passalaqua, Megan and a small group of buyers traversed the country from Milan all the way to Sicily. Megan had the opportunity to personally meet all of the producers whose products Palmer’s now imports into their store.

Customers of Palmer’s Market quickly caught wind of Megan’s trip and wanted to learn more. They followed her food blog, ‘Palmer’s on the Road’, talked to her at the store and sampled the products. The response inspired Palmer’s to open up these one-of-a-kind tours to their customers.

Travel with Gioacchino, one of the Palmer’s (or a Palmer’s Buyer) and a small group of 10–14 people. Meet traditional artisan producers in their homes and workshops; listen to their stories, learn about the foods they make and taste it all along the way. You will explore small villages, visit local markets, go truffle hunting, take a cooking class with a professional chef, dine in locally renowned restaurants…all while staying in unique 4 and 5 star hotels. The tour itineraries offer a great balance between group and free time. This year, Palmer’s is offering three very exclusive trips to Sicily, Puglia and Piedmont.
