Garlic Cheddar Bicuits

Ingredients

  • 2¾ cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Tbsp. Davis Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp. Garlic Powder, plus an extra ¼ tsp. (optional)
  • ½ tsp. Salt
  • 1 cup Shortening
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. Butter, melted

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 425 F.

2. Combine flour, Davis Baking Powder, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and salt. Using a pastry blender (or 2 forks) cut in shortening until mixture is crumbly. With a fork, add buttermilk and cheese and stir until mixture forms a soft dough.

3. Drop dough by 1/4 cupfuls onto greased cookie sheet.

4.Combine butter and remaining 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder; brush on biscuit tops.

5.Bake 10–12 minutes or until golden brown.
