We are offering an Emergency Grocery Service to assist members in our community who are homebound, under quarantine or at high risk during this pandemic.
We ask that individuals who are capable to shop in-store. We do not want to overwhelm our system which would prevent us from being able to assist those people who desperately need it.
The safety of our customers and employees is our number one concern. You will see additional antibacterial wipes and sanitizer stations throughout the store and all contact surfaces are being wiped down throughout the day. Our employees are trained in food safety, hand washing and coronavirus prevention. Employees with any illness symptoms are not permitted to come to work and we ask that customers do the same. It is essential that grocery stores like Palmer’s are able to stay open and service the community. If you or a member of your household is not feeling well or is at risk, please use our Emergency Grocery Service to set-up a curbside pick-up or Delivery instead of coming into the store.
Palmer’s is closely following developments and advisories from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as the World Health Organization (WHO) and our local Health Department and will continue to update our policies and procedures to meet their recommendations and do everything we can to keep Palmer’s a safe place to work and shop.
THERE IS NO SHORTAGE
There has been a lot of hype in the media about product shortages, but we want to assure you that there are NO shortages of fresh food. Our dairy, prepared foods, meat, bakery and produce departments are fully stocked and we are getting deliveries daily. We are seeing shortages in cereal, paper goods, cleaning supplies and health and beauty, but we are reaching out to secondary suppliers to provide us with everything they can. Check out our Facebook Page for daily updates on what’s available.
LEAVE YOUR BAGS AT HOME
Palmer’s Market will no longer allow reusable bags in our store. We will be using paper and plastic to pack your groceries. First Selectman, Jayme Stevenson has approved relaxing the plastic bag ordinance during the crisis.
We are trying to keep our cashiers and all our employees working through this pandemic and we appreciate your consideration for our safety.
When you do come into the store, please help us thank our amazing employees who have been working tirelessly these past few weeks. While most of the community is confined to their homes, our employees are here stocking shelves, carving meat, stacking produce, packing soups, baking cookies and cooking dinners for you. We are so proud to have such an incredible team and the Palmer Family will be here working beside them through this crisis to ensure every customer gets what they need.
We would also like to send a shout out to our amazing volunteers who have been coming into the store to help stock shelves and bring groceries to homebound members of the community. THANK YOU!
