Morning arrival in Palermo Airport*. Gioacchino will pick you up and bring you to your hotel, Principe di Villafranca. This boutique hotel is immersed in the quiet and sophisticated atmosphere of the area and is in one of the most elegant residential neighbourhoods of Palermo.
Our first group dinner will be at L’Ottava Nota Ristorante (Reviews include: “The food is fun, adventurous and delicious”, “an amazing place to eat!” and “one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever eaten!”)

Friday, September 21
After breakfast at the hotel, we will be touring the Mercato del Capo, an authentic Sicilian market with fresh produce, seafood, meat, cheese, spices, olives and so much more! From there we’ll take a walking tour in the historic center of Palermo to discover the wonderful monuments of Arab-Norman style.
This afternoon we’ll enjoy a ‘street food’ style lunch in the lively streets of Palermo. Spend the rest of the day to yourself – go shopping or enjoy the beach in Mondello. Dinner on your own tonight!
Saturday, September 22
After breakfast, we’ll visit the Tre Erre Ceramic for a workshop. Afterwards you will have lunch on your own in Palermo and have time to explore and shop all afternoon.
Tonight we will have dinner at Restaurant Luci e Calici.

Sunday, September 23
After breakfast, we’ll pack our bags and head to Ragusa with a stop in Caltagirone for lunch on your own.
Tonight after checking into our new hotel Villa Carlotta, we will have dinner at Restaurant La Fenice.

Monday, September 24
After breakfast at the hotel, we will have a guided tour of Siracusa with time to explore on our own and grab some lunch.
Tonight, we will head to Modica for a visit and tasting at Antica Dolceria Bonajuto with a chocolate dinner at Restaurant Fattoria delle Torri then head back to the hotel.
Tuesday, September 25
After breakfast, we will meet cheese producer, Maria, at Cilone Family Farm. We’ll watch her make Caciocavallo and Ricotta by hand and then enjoy a tasting of the freshly made cheeses. From there we’ll visit the local market and butcher shop before heading into Chef Claudio Ruta’s kitchen at Ristorante la Fenice for the ultimate cooking class.
One of our favorite quotes from our last tour says it all: “Chef Ruta has a unique talent for creating simple yet innovative riffs on Sicilian classics. His passion for ingredients, local traditions and finding joy in the process inspired us greatly. A self-taught chef who is all heart, he seemed proud of what we accomplished in his kitchen. After class, we sat down to the 6-course meal, with each student explaining the process behind their dish. We all agreed that it was the most memorable meal of the trip!”

Wednesday, September 26
While we enjoy breakfast at the hotel, the aTTavola staff will collect luggage as we prepare to hear to Trapani. On our way we will stop at the Temple Valley Greek Ruins. On our way to Agrigento,we’ll enjoy the spectacular views of the coastline. We’ll enjoy lunch at Porto San Paolo, a local restaurant located right on the water. We will then head to our hotel, Baglio Sorìo, which offers spectacular views of Trapani. (Some hotel reviews include: “Boutique luxury in wine country overlooking the sea” and “a hidden gem in Sicily”).
Tonight you will have free time walking, shopping and dining on your own in Trapani.

Thursday, September 27
After breakfast, we will visit the fish market in Trapani. From there we will travel to Erice where you will have free time to shop and have lunch on your own. Tonight we will travel to the town of Marsala where we will have a tasting dinner at Cantine Martinez, a marsala wine producer.

Friday, September 28
After breakfast we leave from the port of Balestrate for the boat tour, after the check-in at Hotel Marina Holiday. We’ll take a trip to the port of Trapani where we will take a boat tour around the Gulf of Castellammare. Dinner on your own in Balestrate.

Saturday, September 29
After breakfast at the hotel,we will head to Segesta and visit the Greek Temple and Amphitheater of Segesta. Then we will head to the winery for a tasting and lunch at Azienda Agricola Ceuso. In the evening we will meet for a group dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Sunday, September 30
After breakfast, we’ll leave Balestrate to Palermo Airport (PMO) where we will all say our goodbyes.
